











This pirate environment was created together with a co-student, Yannick Oldrini.
The aim of this project was to utilise complex and industry-relevant workflows for producing media projects in Unreal Engine, using project planning, production techniques and project execution methods.
Yannick and I developed a ‘pirate cove’ environment in Unreal Engine with assets made ourselves and some pre-made assets to support our production.
We started off by gathering references and inspiration for our environment before getting into the concept art and the 3D production. We wanted to create a sort of market or hub that could be used in a game for players to take a break or upgrade their character. The cove also includes a tavern that is partially made from the rear-end of a ship to enhance that pirate atmosphere we were aiming for. The initial idea was to make an island, which later changed more into a platform above the water.
